Artist Commissions
Thanks to additional funding from Arts Council England and a matching contribution from the National Heritage Lottery Fund we have commissioned 5 artists and 6 bursary artists to develop and present a range of exciting new art projects.
The 5 Commissions are based with community groups and organisations across the Black Country region. Artists are working with local communities and individuals to explore personal photography collections and archives and reflect on how they help us shape the stories of who we are. The work will be presented late-winter 2020 and will also form part of the final Living Memory exhibition in April 2020.
The 6 Bursary Commissions enable emerging and mid-career artists to undertake a period of supported research and development based upon the themes of the Living Memory Project. They are matched with the same community venues as the 5 commissioned artists and have the opportunity to present new work and research following their collaborations.

The arts programme is led by Geoff Broadway with input from Nicola Shipley (bursary mentor and curatorial support) and Rich Franks (coordinator).
